My strong advice on how to get big shoulders I will say you pre-exhaust your shoulders and stretch properly to avoid any injuries.
On weight training you don’t need to heavy that will make you to swing. Lift what you can and feel the burn on the muscle. Remember to breathe in on the negative phase. Make sure you hit every angle by variety of exercises and mixing up cables, machine and free weight.
